2020 calls for some innovative solutions, and this one takes the cake in making mask wearing a bit easier! We made these mask chains to clip to our masks so they can hang close by when removed. We’ve got a list of supplies below, you might have some of them at home already. It’s a great activity for the kiddos too!

Supplies

Alligator Clips

Elastic Cord

Tacky Glue

There are a ton of bead options in many styles but here are some of our favorites!

Alphabet Letter Beads

Earth Tone Glass Beads

Mini Tassel Charms

Rainbow Plastic Pony Beads

Wood Beads

Steps

  1. Cut a piece of elastic cord. You want the chain length to be about 24 – 28 inches. Leave additional cord for tying off the ends to the clips.
  2. Tie an alligator clip to the end of the cord.
  3. Fill your cord with beads in a fun design.
  4. Add a second alligator clip to finish the chain and knot it off.
  5. Cover the knots on the clips with tacky glue to ensure they are secure.
  6. Cut excess cord from the clips. Allow glue to dry fully before using.
