I know we’ve all raised the flag before, are moms getting enough credit? Am I even being seen? Do they know how much I do? In the times of pandemic I’ve got another question that admittedly I’d maybe never uttered before…are dads getting enough credit?

Hear me out. I’ve always known my kids have one of the good ones. Our family has been called progressive more times than I can remember because of a man that simply takes his kiddos for a diaper change in public or ::feign shock:: stays with them when I’ve left town. Of course this is pre-pandemic. Remember the choice to leave town with the ladies? What a beautiful thought. But I digress. Dadlando is a great dad, no questions about it.

I know as a working mama, the amount I do for my kiddos has tripled during pandemic. The mounting responsibilities feel crushing. I started to see more and more talk of the moms taking on more. We sure have. And dads are also being faced with new responsibilities while working from home with kids. It’s a brave new world. A brave new super hard world for us all. And it doesn’t look the same for everyone.

But in our house, I know that dadlando has stepped up to the plate once again to tag-team this insanity with me. I’ve begun to wonder, did I ever give him enough credit? Credit for the dad he was, the corona dad he is, and the one I don’t hesitate to say he will be.

So here’s a big shout out to those dads who have been there all along.

To those working at home or still out in the world.

To those furloughed, being full-time daycare, or teacher now.

And to those who recently stepped up to the plate.

Thank you dads for all you do.

You don’t get enough credit.

And you should.
