The countdown is on! Father’s Day is just around the corner so I thought I would share my Top Ten things Dadlando wants to do to ensure I have a good day (countdown in order of importance).  Because it is never too early to start planning a special day for dad.

  1. Exercise– This one sounds good, but it probably won’t happen. However, I really like the idea of being able to take an hour to shoot some baskets or hit the Topgolf driving range.
  1. No Diapers– I mean, I do the same for Momlando on Mother’s Day. It’s only fair to be relieved of this duty on my day.
  1. Duckhunt at the Park– Little Buddy loves ducks! I like to take him to the park to try to spot all the ducks we can.
  1. Take a Nap– Two little ones are a handful.  I take any opportunity to nap if I can get!
  1. Have a Big Breakfast– I love breakfast. And when the kids wake up extra early on the weekend, we might as well beat the crowds and go out to have a nice breakfast.
  1. Mini Golf– We are getting to the age where our firstborn is interested in mini golf. I would love to get her into the sport.
  1. Go for a Drive– On the weekend, we inevitably end up with an hour or two with nothing to do. Lately, I have enjoyed going for a drive to fill that time. Sometimes it is just rolling around with no direction at all, and other times we drive out to the beach.  In all honesty though, it goes hand in hand with number three…
  1. Get a Treat– Dad deserves a treat on Father’s Day. Let’s go for a drive and get some ice cream!
  1. Watch Sports– The U.S. Open wraps up on Father’s Day, so I will want to watch it for sure- Go Phil! Also, game seven of the NBA Finals is scheduled for that day, even though the series is unlikely to go seven games… but if it does I need to watch that too.
  1. BBQ!– There’s nothing better than grilling up some good food for the family. It’s the ultimate dad activity on Father’s Day.

So there it is, my simple list to make Father’s Day a success. If I only get to do a couple of these I will be happy because family time is good no matter what we do.

I hope this list gives you some good ideas.  Or maybe you already have made some plans?  Let us know how you plan on making Father’s Day special in the comments below!
