Looking for fun places to go this Spring Break?  How about heading out to the Space Coast for a chance to be Vacationauts?  First things first, you’ll want to head to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Walk among towering Mercury, Gemini and Apollo rockets in the Rocket Garden, join a 3D space experience in the IMAX Theater, blast into space in the Shuttle Launch Experience, or explore life on Mars with the all-new Astronaut Training Experience.  The Center also offers remarkable exhibits and astronaut-led presentations that explore the American space program’s storied past, including the groundbreaking Apollo lunar missions that made “one giant leap for mankind,” and its exciting future.

Hop in the car for fun activities for the whole family, from awe-inspiring rocket launches and unique attractions to endless sunshine and beautiful white sand beaches, the Space Coast has something to offer everyone.  There are still two more launches scheduled this month:

  • March 20, 2018, launch window TBD – SLC-40 Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL. Launch of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 TESS Rocket
  • March 30, 2018, launch window TBD – Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL.  Launch of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Bangabandhu 1 Rocket

Blast off into more fun activities with more nearby fun places to go this Spring Break:

Adventure HQ – a 24,000 square foot facility bursting with action packed activities ranging from bouldering walls, crazy climb arena and ninja warrior course.

Bioluminescent Kayaking – plankton, or dinoflagellates, give the waters of Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge a glow-in-the dark effect known as “bioluminescence.” It’s an experience you and your family will never forget.

Brevard Zoo – kayak through the African plains and zipline over South American waters teeming with gators and crocs, or seize the opportunity to feed giraffes from your hand, pet rhinos and let colorful parrots perch on your arm.

Sebastian Inlet State Park: a beautiful Florida beach and premier saltwater fishing and surfing spot. The Sebastian Inlet Cove tidal pool is an ideal place for kids of all ages to (safely) get up close and personal with tiny fish and other marine life.

The space coast is full of things for kids to do just a short drive outside of Orlando!  Spend a day or a whole week with your family trying all sorts of new things.  We’ve got other staycation ideas here!
