Sondra Rae is a co-host of Johnny’s House in the Mornings on XL1067 and a mom of two. Sondra and her wife Missy welcomed twins just over a year ago. She shares her life online and on the radio in the most loving and authentic way. And since her beautiful babies arrived she’s let us all come along for the ride!
- Describe what motherhood has been like for you in six words. “The Best Life Changing Experience Ever!”
- How do you reset your perspective after a really hard day? “I sit back and realize how lucky I am to have to beautiful healthy children and know that we are just doing our absolute best!”
- What has the most surprising part of motherhood? (Aside from everything) “The Love that you have for your child. I always heard other moms explain that love but you truly don’t know what it’s like until you have your own. Also the food allergies, the reflux… everything kind of comes as a surprise when it’s your first! THERE IS NO MANUAL!”
- Do you have any favorite tricks that keep you organized? “When I know we are going somewhere… The night before I make sure that our diaper bag is fully stocked so I don’t have to rush the day of!”
- What’s something you do differently now as a mom than when you were a new mama? “I would have the biggest FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) When I wasn’t a mother… but now I don’t care what everyone else is doing & where they are going!”
- How do you create time for yourself in the week? “The wife and I make sure that we do this for each other. She needs time away and I do too. She will watch the babies while I go out for a run on my own or go get my nails done.”
- What do you consider success in raising your children? “I would consider growing considerate human beings a success. Having kids that appreciate everything they have and want to be the change this world needs.”
- What’s a place you wish existed in Orlando but doesn’t? “This is a hard one! We are home to DISNEY and all things entertainment!”
- Favorite place to relax in Orlando…without kids? “Either a massage place or by the pool.”
- What’s your perfect Orlando day of food? If you could go out to eat (and do so uninterrupted and peacefully) where would you go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? “Breakfast – Nuno’s Cafe in Avalon Park, Lunch – The Stubborn Mule, and Dinner – Cooper’s Hawk.”
