There are endless things to do in all areas of Central Florida. If you’re looking for things to do with your family in Orlando then festivals, annual traditions, and local sports are the thing for you. There are so many things to do in Central Florida all year long. Here are some highlights of the calendar that happen annually:

February

Florida Strawberry Festival: Occurring at the end of February into early March each year, this festival is a celebration of all things strawberry. There are carnival rides, livestock shows, and big musical entertainment as well.

Silver Spurs Rodeo:  Hosted every 3rd weekend in February, this event features all seven traditional rodeo events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing.

March

Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival: This festival is one of the most prestigious outdoor arts festivals in the country. It takes over all of downtown Winter Park for a weekend full of arts, culture, and great food. It is a family friendly festival though you’ll want to keep your kiddos from touching and breaking anything, that’s a price tag you don’t want to have to check.

May

The Orlando International Fringe Festival: This two week festival features performance groups from all over the world for a completely unjuried and uncensored experience. It’s the longest running Fringe Theatre Festival in the United States. Kids Fringe takes place on weekends throughout the festival and is 100% free.

July

Red Hot Boom: This pre-4th of July festival brings a huge crowd to Crane’s Roost in Uptown Altamonte for a full concert line-up and incredible fireworks. The City of Altamonte Springs partners with XL 106.7 for this long beloved tradition.

September

Halloween Horror Nights: Starting in early September and running a little past Halloween, tourists and locals can get the pants scared off them at Universal Orlando. The parks stay open during the day and at night transform into an immersive environment with haunted houses, scare zones, and horror themed shows.

UCF Football: Support Orlando’s hometown team by checking out a football game. Activities span throughout each day for family friendly tailgating and lots of fun.

October

Come out with Pride Orlando: A one-day festival and parade celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Orlando. Come out with Pride welcomes everyone from Central Florida and beyond to come together and #KEEPDANCINGORLANDO. 2018’s parade saw 175,000+ attendees.

Mt. Dora Craft Fair: This giant arts and crafts festival takes over the entire downtown of Mt. Dora for one weekend each fall. Hundreds of unique vendors bring their finest offerings for purchase.

Long & Scott Farms Corn Maze: A fun fall tradition this seven-acre corn maze will provide hours of fun for your family. Check out the farm’s hayride, market, and many other activities too.
