1. The opportunity to create thanksgiving traditions of my own. Growing up, it was hard to reconcile a holiday centered around a turkey being something that our newly immigrant family of strict vegetarians should adopt. Especially as my mom was a cashier who always volunteered to work for extra holiday pay. *Special shoutout to all the  parents who spend time working away from their loved ones this holiday weekend.* As I got older, I loved being invited to friends’ family dinners and dreamt of what it would look like when I had my own family. I feel so fortunate to be in that phase now where my husband and I get to try out different traditions and dishes and we can collectively shape what our traditions will be. I am grateful that this holiday helps weave the dialogue of gratitude into my 4 year old’s life. I’d love to hear about your favorite traditions, as long as they don’t involve waking up at 5am for a family 10k!
  2. The journey of motherhood. When there’s an ocean of advice accessible in a single swipe, it’s hard not to second guess yourself. But as I’ve quieted my world, I’ve been able to hear my inner voice more clearly and trust those ideas. One of those ideas being to be part of the Momlando community. I am honored and grateful to be here and look forward to connecting with you.
  3. The resilience of children. My daughter broke her femur bone this summer, right after her 4th birthday. Our summer activities and vacations were quickly replaced with couch time and neighborhood wagon strolls. Just a few days ago, we completed our 6 month X-rays and received confirmation that we are bounce house ready again and I couldn’t be more grateful to receive that news. Side note: I’m also so grateful to be living in Orlando, where we have access to excellent healthcare professionals within a few miles.
  4. The national treasure that is Taylor Swift. The amount of content she has provided us this year is beyond impressive. A tour, a movie, two albums, 10 new vault tracks. But more importantly, I am so genuinely grateful to witness a woman’s journey in creating and owning her artistry.
