When kids gotta rock, there’s only one choice: Orlando’s favorite family-friendly kid entertainer, Mr. Richard and The Pound Hounds. With sing-along tunes about fire trucks, skunks, cool snakes and girl pilots, Richard plays over 300 shows a year for hip kids and their families, accompanying himself on guitar, harmonica, mandolin, banjo and ukulele. Richard regularly rocks out the swing set crowd with his trio The Pound Hounds in venues ranging from the local bookstore or library to the Kid’s Tent at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, and the Fringe Festival in Orlando. “Playing for kids is such a kick,” says Richard. “They get the jokes and dance to the music,” from Portland, OR to Toledo, OH to New York City.
After an eight-year break following the passing of his beloved wife, Mr. Richard (and his trio, the Pound Hounds) is releasing a brand-new album just in time for the holidays: Feather, Bone and Stone, with tunes about the problem with gravity, a cow that makes milkshakes instead of milk, wild chihuahuas and how boring it can be when grown-ups fall into conversation. Mr. Richard and the Pound Hounds’ music is available on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon and www.mrrichard.net.
Feather, Bone and Stone will be available for purchase on December 1, 2020. You can also find out more about Mr. Richard on his Facebook and Instagram pages.
