We love our Orlando moms. But we’re all busy, like really busy. How much time can we all spare? We thought it would be fun to get to know Orlando mamas in just 10 minutes. We ask 10 questions! They answer in 10 minutes! Let’s hit it!

Karen Moreno is the owner of the Bar Method Winter Park and Bar Method Dr. Phillips. She and her husband have three gorgeous children who are off living their college lives. Karen is a ray of positivity and light and an inspiration to mamas wanting to live their best life and enjoy every moment.

  • Describe what motherhood has been like for you in six words. “I can’t imagine life without them.”
  • How do you reset your perspective after a really hard day? “I feel like at this phase being with my children is such a gift since they’re all grown and our time together is so limited. So if I have had a hard day, seeing them and being a part of their lives is what puts it all in perspective!”
  • What has the most surprising part of motherhood? (Aside from everything) “I’ve always loved little kids (used to be an elementary school teacher), having grown kids is the best. There are definitely things about babies and little cute kids that I miss, but when you cross over to being more like friends, it is so special and so much fun. The pressure of worrying about making decisions that I feel like will effect their lives is so much less now. It’s freeing! Also, I never imagined I could continue to love them more, but getting to know them as adults and seeing them evolve into really cool humans makes my heart even more full!”
  • Do you have any favorite tricks that keep you organized? “Post it notes and lots of lists!”
  • What’s something you do differently now as a mom than when you were a new mama? “I do still worry about them in general. Guess that’s forever as a mom, but I feel much more laid back about how I worry and what I worry about.”
  • How do you create time for yourself in the week? “Now that they are grown, my work in balance is more about work. Being with them and just getting to hang out with them is the best way I spend time when I have it. I also do love a good foot massage!”
  • What do you consider success in raising your children? “That they are happy, independent and kind.”
  • What’s a place you wish existed in Orlando but doesn’t? “Places to hike!”
  • Favorite place to relax in Orlando…without kids? “Shopping at local boutiques, Bloomies, and getting foot massages.”
  • What’s your perfect Orlando day of food? If you could go out to eat (and do so uninterrupted and peacefully) where would you go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? “Breakfast: coffee at home when I’m not in a rush and my hubbie’s amazing homemade pancakes. I don’t have many mornings just home without having to be somewhere so this is a treat! Lunch: somewhere where I can sit outside (on a nice day) with girlfriends and have a glass of wine with my lunch Dinner: I love to cook and have people over which doesn’t happen much so I’d say cooking to music and then enjoying dinner and time with friends and family. Or sushi with my husband”
