Momlando’s Inaugural Countdown to Christmas Tournament

It’s time! It’s time! It’s time!

The Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas begins October 27th with all new original movies.  In the Momlando household, we don’t just watch these movies every year, we enter them into a sports playoffs-style bracket to determine our favorites.  It’s a big deal. A really big deal! This year, we are inviting you to download the bracket and play along.

How to Play:

Download the bracket and set your DVRs if you can’t watch live.  The bracket is sorted into three separate groups: early, middle, and late premier dates.  At the very end, we take our favorite of the three and crown it Best of the Year. You will notice that two movies have a first round ‘bye’ – which means that they automatically advance to the second round.  We selected the two ‘number 1 seeds’ based on their premier dates – the day after Thanksgiving and the Christmas day movies! You can assume these will be really good ones based on when they air.

Work your way through each of the brackets by selecting the movie you liked best out of the two facing off.  Once you have seen all the early round movies, you will be able to fill it out to find your early round winner – then repeat for the next two rounds and you’ll have your winner!

We will be checking in throughout the whole run on Instagram and Facebook, so keep up with us on social media. Tell us your picks at #MomlandoCTCbracket

2017 Recap:

Last year was the best year yet as far as Hallmark Holiday movies go. Our Best of the Year pick for 2017 was A Gift to Remember, which premiered November 19, 2017 – a little mystery, a little romance, and a lot of holiday cheer!  An honorable mention went to The Sweetest Christmas, starring the incomparable Lacey Chabert. Both of these are sure to be playing this season as well, so be sure to check them out.

2018 Predictions:

We are pumped for this year’s lineup!  The countdown starts with Christmas at Pemberley Manor starring, Jessica Lowndes.  She’s a fantastic holiday movie lead.  When you see her name on the header, you can be sure you’re in for a delightful time. It looks like they are starting off the year with a classic Hallmark set up; a small-town holiday festival, a billionaire lacking in holiday spirit, a big city event planner… classic! Just the thing to get the (snow)ball rolling.

Last year, Christmas in Evergreen was a big hit.  This year, we return to Evergreen to explore more!  Can’t wait to see that Kris Kringle Kitchen again in this year’s Christmas In Evergreen: Letters to Santa.  We’re hoping for cameos and reoccurring cast members from the original town. More of this please, Hallmark!  How about a whole shared cinematic holiday movie universe? Like the superhero movies do! Crossovers, thru lines, inside jokes, and post-credit scenes, we’re here for all of it.

A can’t miss, Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe… c’mon, how could it not be good? It stars Lacey Chabert!  We can’t wait to see how this one plays out, Darcy reconnects with an old rival, and they are forced to plan a charity event together.  Mmmm, we can smell the hot chocolate now!

You never know, who the winer will be.  That’s why you’ve got to watch them all and play along!  All we know is that the kids have to go to bed early and we’ve got to clear all the space possible from the DVR.  We have a lot of movies to watch coming up!! Be sure to watch for our updates on Instagram and Facebook. Check in with the hashtag #MomlandoCTCbracket. We will be discussing the movies and picking our favorites as they are aired.  Happy holidays!

Our game is not sponsored or endorsed by Hallmark Channel.  We’re just super fans who want to spread some holiday cheer.
